A restored farmhouse

The cottage called O Alpendre is part of the estate of Casa da Cuqueira, situated just South of the town of Vieira do Minho. Before its renovation the building was in use as a storage room for agricultural produce. Now it is a light, comfortably and tastefully furbished place where you can spend a very enjoyable holiday. Around the cottage is a large and beautiful, private garden with fruit trees, a lawn and lots of flowers, which is for the sole use of O Alpendre’s guests. At the front – even from your bed – you have a nice view over the garden, a part of the estate and the hills in the distance. The main house, where the owners live, stands at a distance. Here are also 2 apartments for rent (sleeping 10 people in all). Behind the main house is the swimming pool that you share with the other guests. Around the pool is a large sun lawn. The distance to the centre of Vieira do Minho is about 1 km. There are all kinds of shops, restaurants, cafés, banks, the post office, etc. Also closeby is the reservoir of Ermal, where you will find beaches, nice places to swim and also a facility for cable-waterskiing (called “Tele-Ski”). More possibilities for watersports are to be found at the large reservoir of Caniçada (12 kms), situated at the foot of the national park Peneda-Gerês. There are canoes, pedal boats and motor boats for rent and you can also (learn to) waterski. |

Well-equipped half open kitchen with electric cooker. 2 Bedrooms, 1 double and 1 twin, each with ensuite bathroom and small balcony.Heating: Woodburning stove in the living room, electric heaters in the bedrooms and the bathrooms.
