House and surroundings
Casa de Sanoane originates from the reconstruction of a large farm in the village of Bucos. On the outside the complex of the house, stables, granery, threshing floor, forge and winery remained intact, but on the inside most rooms got a new destination. The inner yard, now with access to the bedrooms, is covered, which gives it a friendly atmosphere.
Your breakfast, or if you wish your lunch or dinner, is served on the ground floor of the granery. In the former forge, where the fireplace and bellows are preserved, you will now find a snooker table, and in the adega (winery) drinks are served.
Next to the house is a large garden and patio, a swimming pool and a children's playground.
Bucos is a well preserved, old village on the border of the Serra da Cabreira and 8 kms from Cabeceiras de Basto (all facilities). Here the daily routine of rural life, only affected by the change of the seasons, goes on like it has for countless years. The unspoilt countryside, with excellent possibilities for walks and drives, and the modern comfort of the accommodation make Casa de Sanoane an ideal place to stay for those who seek quiet surroundings. This is the true turismo rural !
