House and surroundings

Casa São Pedro is a recently renovated, partly granite built cottage at the outskirts of a small village. The new owners made sure it became the ideal spot for enjoying life out of doors.
At the back of the house is the partly covered terrace, the swimming pool and the garden, all surrounded by a walll which ensures your privacy. From the veranda at the front you have lovely views over the the valley of the Rio Ave and the Serra da Cabreira. The house itself is fully equipped.

Nearby are good possibilities for walking, for instance along the old mills that were driven by the water of the Rio Ave.
The cottage is not far from the Ermal reservoir, where you will find nice places for swimming, and also a facility for cable-waterskiing (called Tele-Ski).
More possibilities for watersports are to be found at the large reservoir of Caniçada (20 kms, situated at the foot of the national park Peneda-Gerês. There are canoes, pedal boats and motor boats for rent and you can also (learn to) waterski.

In the village of São Pedro there is only a café, however in nearby Rossas (2 km) are a butcher, a mini mercado (a small grocery shop), a pharmacy and some cafés. The nearest restaurant is 3 km away.
More choice is to be found in the small town of Vieira do Minho (13 km); supermarkets, banks, the post office, restaurants, a health care centre, and a large weekly market.
The distance to Braga is about 40 km, and to Guimarães (Capital of Culture 2012) 32 km.
