House and surroundingsThe Quinta dos Vieiras (“the farm of the Vieiras family”) and a few adjoining former farms make up the hamlet of Outeiro, which is part of Tabuaças.Next to the main building, partially hidden behind the old espigueiro (a stone, narrow built corn shed) is a stone house that was built some 200 years ago, but is still reffered to by the family as the casa nova. It is recently restored into a spacious and very comfortable holiday home for 4 people. At the front is a private patio, with a wonderful view over the valley of Outeiro and the foothills of the Serra da Cabreira beyond. Alongside the espigueiro is a large swimming pool and a fine sun terrace. The pool is heated, therefore the water is always pleasantly warm, even in early spring or late autumn. The distance to the town of Vieira do Minho is about 2.5 km. There you will find all kinds of shops, restaurants and cafés. Along the reservoir of Ermal-Guilhofrei (± 10 km) are beaches and nice places to swim, and also a facility for waterskiing (“Tele-Ski”). More possibilities for watersports are to be found at the large reservoir of Caniçada (also 10 km). There are canoes, pedal boats and motor boats for rent and you can also (learn to) waterski. The main road N103 is only a few kilometres away, which means easy access to for instance the Peneda-Gerês national park or the city of Braga. |
