House and surroundings
Living above a waterfall, this was the dream of the owner of Casa Moinho da Porta when he set out to design and build this stunning studio apartment. Here you can imagine you are far away from civilisation, and be at one with nature, the greenery, the gurgling water, the birds, and maybe at dusk even a pair of otters.
The apartment is in total harmony with its environment. The contemporary looks and austere finish make it blend in perfectly with the landscape. However, in neither the construction, nor the fittings and furnishings has there been any concession to quality or comfort.
The studio provides accomodation for 2 people, with a spacious living-bedroom, a kitchenette and a separate bathroom. The large windows at the front and the balcony offer panoramic views at the stream.
The apartment stands on the spot of the former saw mill, with its back facing the house at about 15 metres. At the front, looking out over the waterfall, are the private entrance, patio and pool.
