Layout and amenities

Ground floor: Fully equipped kitchen with gas cooker and electric oven. 2 Bedrooms; 1 double and 1 twin. Bathroom (shower). Hall with access to the patio at the back.
First floor: Living / dining room. Third bedroom with private shower room.
Heating: Central heating.
Amenities: Private swimming pool (fenced for toddlers), TV, wifi-Internet, dvd player, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave oven, cot (at request), barbecue.

House and surroundings

Casa do Olival is a recently renovated cottage on a small estate called Quinta da Soalheira. It has its own garden, private swimming pool and parking place, and has its back to the main house. At the front you therefore have uninterrupted views over the fields and mountains beyond.
The cottage has 3 bedrooms, each for 2 persons. You can decide how many rooms (2 or 3) you want to use. The remaining bedroom will be closed and not be let out to others, so you will always have the exclusive use of the rest of the house, the garden and the swimming pool!

The cottage is nicely furnished and offers everything that is needed for a pleasant stay. On both sides is a patio, so you always have a choice between sun and shade. The patio at the back (with the fixed barbecue) and the adjoining pool area offer lots of privacy.

On the quinta corn and grapes are being grown (the owner makes a fine vinho verde), and there are olive trees and all kinds of fruit trees. In front of the house is a large field where children can play. There is also another patio, in the shade of a walnut tree.
Through the gate at the end of the property you can walk to the Rio Peio, a tributary that flows into the river Tâmega just South of the Cabeceiras county.

The distance to the small town of Cabeceiras de Basto is about 2.5 km. There you will find all kinds of shops, restaurants, pastelarias, banks, the post office, a pharmacy, a large weekly market, etc. Only 300 metres from the property are a bakery and a restaurant that is well known for its bacalhau com batatas a murro.
The city of Guimarães (Unesco World Heritage) is about 40 km away.
